QUIET CLIP
At a high level, reducing brake noise is an obvious need. However, one customer put a specific number on it by calling it the “Million Dollar Need”, based on the warranty claims from customers returning with noisy brakes.
NUCAP’s solution
Being a dedicated NVH solutions provider of brake system components gives us insights into how the brake systems function and the unnecessary cost incurred which gave us added motivation to provide a solution. In this case, it meant developing a unique coated abutment clip that significantly reduces noise by isolating vibration from the brake pad to the brake caliper.
Quiet Clip performance
Percent Noise at Specified dB levels from SAE J2521 Noise Dyno test on General Motor W body front brake systems. Test results show, Quiet Clip provides superior noise reduction when compared to the original equipment hardware.
